Three worth knowing about
Emergency care
You have the right to emergency medical care. Hospitals are expected to stabilise a patient in an emergency regardless of the ability to pay at that moment.
Where you buy medicines
You may buy prescribed medicines from any pharmacy you choose, and get tests done at any registered lab. No hospital can require you to use its own.
Transparency in rates
You are entitled to know the rates before treatment, and to receive an itemised bill afterwards that you can have explained to you.
A second opinion
You may seek a second opinion, and the hospital should give you your records and reports so another doctor can review them.
